Visa Information

General information

Most congress participants will not need a visa because Denmark is covered by the common rules in the European union/Schengen. It also means that you can travel without any problems between Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. Please check the list here

Carefully read the information and check requirements according to the websites mentioned bellow.

You can apply for visa 6 month before you plan to enter Denmark to attend the Apimondia 2025 congress, and it is recommended, that you apply as early as possible and latest 3 month before.

After you have registered and paid the receipt serves as an invitation. Registration fee will be reimbursed in case visa is not granted by the 1st of September 2025.

If you need a visa for Denmark, you will need to apply the local Danish consulate, Embassy or visa office (VAC se bellow). They will all have been informed in advance about the hosting of the Apimondia Congress in Copenhagen. If the Danish consulate, Embassy or visa office need further information, they can ask for information or a letter of invitation by sending an e-mail to [email protected]

The visa application procedure is as follows:

1. Create a profile on the platform ApplyVisa.um.dk platform, fill in an application and pay the visa fee (90 EUR) online.
   You will have to choose a local Visa Application Centre (VAC) in order to hand in relevant documents and have your biometrics (digital photo and fingerprints) recorded. A list of where to hand in the visa application can be found here: Where to apply for a visa or residence permit
2. A cover letter is generated – this must be printed and signed.
3. Collate mandatory documents to be submitted together with application form and signed cover letter to the VAC.
   IMPORTANT: Make sure to check that the Visa Application Center (VAC) is open before going to the Visa Application Center. Visit this website for more information.

Are you applying for group visa?

If you are travelling in a group, e.g. as a family, where more travelers need a visa, you can choose to apply as a group and pay the fee for all applicants in one payment. A group can be 2-8 applicants. If you are traveling more than 8 applicants together, please register more groups.

You will still have to register individual applications for each traveler, but common information about purpose of journey, destination etc. will be copied to all the individual applications in the group.
